The amazing island of Milos was the second stop on our Greek Island tour. There are so so SO many islands to choose from, and other than Santorini, I wasn’t positive of what other ones I wanted to visit when we started planning. After doing a lot of research, I decided that Milos was on the top of our list. I loved Milos as much as Santorini, which I wasn’t expecting! It’s much less touristy, a welcomed break after the crowds on Santorini. It’s a much more relaxed place, a bit more untouched, if you will. A lot of the locals don’t speak english, and google maps cannot be trusted there, haha. It was a perfect change from our previous island, especially because Milos is famous for it’s beaches, and the beaches in Santorini aren’t much to write home about. I wanted us to have a few relaxing days on some Grecian beaches and Milos was the perfect place for it. This island is filled with the bluest water I have ever seen, and the world’s most pristine beaches. The sea water is calm and crystal clear and shallow and everything you have ever wanted. We spent our days there just exploring different parts of the island and again, eating our way through every town. If you are planning a trip to the Greek Islands, Milos should absolutely not be missed!
Where To Stay
Pollonia
The three biggest towns in Milos are Adamas, Pollonia, and Plaka. We ended up picking Pollonia because it’s the quietest of all three towns while still offering lots of places to stay and eat. Milos is a very small island, and we rented a car, so getting around was very quick and easy! So I wouldn’t say where you stay on the island is super important if you have a car to get around with. Instead, just look for accommodations that look the best to you in any of the towns!
We stayed at Kapetan and really really loved it. The suites were incredibly clean, beautiful, and modern but still had that Grecian charm. The first morning we were there we ordered room service for breakfast and it was so delicious, we ended up ordering it all 3 mornings we stayed with them!
