Hello photo blog world! And if we’re being honest- hi mom, and various aunts and cousins.
A few weeks ago, Nate and I took a short trip to Yosemite for the weekend! We spent a day and a half in the national park that all Californians are required to take a pilgrimage to eventually. It was really magnificent, and although it was one of our shortest weekend trips of the year, it was one of my favorites. I only hope we can go back again this year when things have bloomed and before all of america decides to go on summer vacation. ALSO, I reeeeeeallly want to see a bear. I spent a lot of the trip obsessively scanning my surroundings like a weirdo because I wanted to spot one of those hairy beasts so bad!
While in the National Park we stayed mostly in Yosemite Valley because a lot of the park closes in the winter due to all the snow fall. The hikes we did were…Vernal Falls, Mirror Lake, Upper Yosemite Falls, and of course the short walks to Lower Yosemite and Bridalveil Falls. A lot of these we only did a portion of due to time and wanting to see as much as we could. We also drove the 90 minutes to Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias on our way out, which you’ll see in the last 10 or so photos from the trip.
Even if you don’t live in California, Yosemite is worth a trip to the golden state, even if that’s all you see. There were so many parts of the park, and it was SO giant, you could easily spend a week or two there.
Lastly, I’d like to give a shout out to God for making this place rad, and also to my hubs for documenting the trip with me. He’s quite the photographer.
