After the madness of the holidays this winter, Nate and I decided to make a little travel itinerary for the spring. Our first weekend destination was Malibu.
We left OC at 7 that morning, grabbed some Stumptown pour over at Primo Passo and then headed to Bru’s Wiffle A Waffle Joint, in Santa Monica for some gluten free waffles. We wanted to make sure our bodies were packed full of nutrients for our big hike we had planned. Nate’s waffle was mostly peanut butter, bacon, and whipped cream. And my waffle just looked like a huge pile of Nutella. Needless to say we both left really really happy and diabetic.
The hike was somewhat of a “build your own” adventure. Charmlee Wilderness Park has a dozen different trails that all run together, so you could hike for 0.3 miles or 6 if you wanted, and the whole way has killer views. We explored for a couple hours and then headed down the canyon to the beach. We settled at Paradise Cove beach to cool down and eat another oversized meal. The only let down to this trip was that I didn’t see Courtney Cox boppin around with her iced latte like I had planned. Wah.
Anyway, here are some photos from the day! Viva la Malibu!
