Charleston: a magical place

This year I had the privilege to go on a dream vacation. Although I’ve been known to be a tad dramatic…I mean dream vacation quite literally. Yes, I’ve gone to Charleston, SC for the past 10 years but this year, I got to go twice. The first time was before the humidity and crowds and it was magical.

I got to spend a week touring historic homes and gardens with 3 of my all time favorite people. My mother, sister, and one of my bestest friends, Nikki. We sipped wine, strolled endlessly through cobblestone alleys, found hidden gardens, stuffed ourselves at every meal, sniffed flower box after flower box, and laughed until we hurt. It’s one of those times that you feel sad it’s ending, not because it’s over, but because you know nothing else will ever compare. I savor the 5 days I had in that lovely city with the loveliest of company.

If you’re ever in the area…our favorite places to chow are as follows.

Breakfast at The Palmetto Cafe

Lunch at 82 Queen

Drinks at The Gin Joint

Dinner at Magnolias
